Housed at NICTA’s head office in the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, the lab is made up of three separate physical areas: the demonstration space, an event and seminar room, and a working area.
Tours of the Living Lab provide an opportunity to see exhibits of the application of ICT along an end-to end supply chain. The scenario is derived from a real-world wine shipment process. It features the repeated wine delivery between an Australian winery and a Singapore wine bar across all modes of transportation. Manufacturers, transporters, distributors and retailers are some of the industry roles represented in the Living Lab.
Physical components, interactive elements, and a logistics themed fit-out provide a tangible experience, so visitors can explore, interact and understand how the latest technology will work in practice.
Physical components, interactive elements, and a logistics themed fit-out provides visitors with a tangible experience. Demonstration stations link through an end-to-end storyline of a wine supply chain scenario. The scenario presented in the lab demonstrates the repeated wine shipment between the bottling station of a winery in Australia and an overseas importer that supplies the wine to a hotel chain. As the initiative moves forward, the exhibition space will evolve further and be extended. Multiple industry scenarios will be developed over time and outcomes of joint research projects will be showcased. Outdated elements will be removed and brand-new demonstrations will be installed.
